Move Set
In his ranged form, Asher wields a staff and has the following moves:
| Attack | Description | Type | Parryable? | Media |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lightning Strike |
Asher will leap in the air before launching an explosive lightning bolt at the player's position, dealing heavy damage. Asher will only use this move to initiate the fight and when switching from melee to ranged form. This move can be nullified by dodging for i-frames. |
Magical | ✖ | |
| Thunder Spear |
After a short windup animation, Asher will throw a hardened bolt of lightning, inflicting heavy damage. The projectile will track its target. This move can be avoided by dodging for i-frames. |

| Umbral Grasp |
Having identical function to the player spell, Umbral Grasp, Asher will send a homing shadow hand towards the player after a short cast time. If the hand connects with the player, the player will be immobilized and vulnerable for 3 seconds. After which, Asher will follow up with a Thunder Spear attack. This move, however, can be dodged for i-frames. Dodging backwards may be riskier as it places you further along the projectile's path. |

|
| Black Hole |
After a couple seconds, Asher will create a black hole above himself that lasts for 5 seconds, drawing the player to it and dealing light damage if the player is too close. Asher will then follow up with 3 consecutive Thunder Spears. Its gravitational pull can make dodging the follow up attacks a bit more difficult and, at the same time, prevent the player from closing in with close range weapons. |

Movement and Battle Strategy
- Keep your distance during Asher's Black Hole attack.
- Do not spam attacks and watch carefully for sudden Umbral Grasp attacks.
- He will switch to melee form automatically past 60% Health.
- Asher may temporarily switch back to ranged form if the player is too far.
- His melee form is a heavy skill check in that parries are immensely rewarding, as they will allow you to quickly break his stance gauge faster for significant riposte damage. It is recommended to practice fighting Avarus Soldiers to learn the parry windows of swords. 2-3 parries to stagger.
- Timing is essential on dodging. Learning when to dodge may take several to tens of deaths.
- Because most of your damage will come from ripostes, melee weapons are your best bet for this fight. Specifically, daggers and swords would be optimal due their relatively low endlag on their attacks and higher stamina economy. Using Greatswords or Hammers is risky and may get you killed due to the weapons' slow swings, consequently high endlag and low stamina. If you are caught by an Umbral Grasp attack mid-swing with a slower weapon, the consequences can be fatal.
- As for minimum gear recommendations, this fight is meant to be fought with ~G10 Brute Set/Rogue Set and steel grade weapons. However, if you are having difficulty with this fight, you can throw in the towel and farm for higher tier Armor/Weapons or further upgrade your gear.
- Riposte gives you a small window to heal.
