Gideon is an NPC in Derelict. Being one of the first NPCs you meet when starting the game, he helps teach you basic Skills such as Logging, Mining and Fishing.
He also functions as a Merchant, selling some starter items and will purchase your items for 80% of their original value.

Accepting this quest will grant you an Old Pickaxe that can used to mine the Copper Deposits and Tin Deposits located Southwest of the bonsai.
Return to Gideon after collecting enough Copper Ore and Tin Ore.

You must complete Gideon's Request 2 as a prerequisite.
To complete this quest, use the Furnace within Gideon's Camp to smelt your Copper Ore and Tin Ore into Bronze Bars.
Then, use the Anvil next to the Furnace to craft yourself a Bronze Dagger.
Return to Gideon to finish the quest.

Accepting this quest will grant you an Old Rod that can be used in Fishing a Herring at [Gideon's Camp] Fishing Spot - Herring.
Additionally, you must gather Brown Mushrooms and Onions that can be acquiring through Foraging around the nearby area.
Lastly, use the Cozy Campfire near the bonsai to use Cooking to make yourself a Herring Delight.
Return to Gideon to finish the quest.

To complete this quest, take the East path up the hill from the bonsai.
There, you will find Percival. Speak to him to complete the quest.

Upgrade any equipment 3 times
Return to Gideon
Reward: +100 Insight Exp + 500 Crowns + x100 Forging Stone
You must complete the A Message from Gideon quest from Sir Wilhelm as a prerequisite.
To complete this quest, use the nearby Anvil to upgrade your gear.
Upgrading your equipment will require Crowns and Forging Stone, scaling exponentially with higher grades.
Return to Gideon to finish the quest.

Clear Dominion's Pass of obstacles
Return to Gideon
Reward: +100 Insight Exp + 500 Crowns + x150 Forging Stone
You must complete Power Within as a prerequisite.
To complete this quest, head Northwest from the bonsai and enter [Gideon's Camp] Dominion's Pass.
Inside you will have to defeat Vagrant Sigvard in order to complete the dungeon.
Clearing Dominion's Pass will allow you access to the Feeding Grounds, in addition to the rest of the world's Locations.
Return to Gideon once you have cleared the dungeon to complete the quest.
